• Journalism & Writing
I began seriously pursuing journalism eight years ago after joining my high school newspaper as a staff writer in my freshman year. I’ve been writing ever since. Easily one of my favorite pastimes, it can suck hours out of my day, if I let it.

A few mandatory courses I took in college year quickly blossomed into two new hobbies. I now have great respect for photographers and designers, and enjoy working in both print and web formats.

• New Media & Applications
A genuine love for technology and desire to be at the forefront of the communications field fuels my interest in new media. I make it a point to adopt the newest social networking platforms early on, so that I can stay up-to-date. One particular interest I’ve had recently is real-time, location-based mobile technology, specifically Smartphone apps like “Foursquare.”

• Music & Fundraising
Music has been a passion of mine since I first joined the band in the fourth grade. Since then, I’ve taught myself how to play several instruments, sung across the world with various choral ensembles, even to used my love of music to raise money for charitable causes.

Since graduation from the University of Georgia, I have been invited to several functions as a guest speaker on the new media and the field of public relations. Through these experiences, I’ve found that I greatly enjoy opportunities to share knowledge with young industry professionals, and I hope to continue speaking in the future.
