Photography is a hobby of mine. Last fall, I took a Photojournalism course as a Grady College requirement, but was surprised to find out how much I enjoy taking pictures. Although I was an absolute beginner at the start of the course, I progressed relatively quickly. By the end of the semester, I had fallen in love with taking pictures of everyday life in the outdoors, and I still shoot when I get a chance. Here are a few shots I’m particularly proud of:

Layout and Design are hobbies of mine, as well. Another course I took last year taught me a lot of basic design principles, and some of the samples below reflect my learnings. Most of our major assignments throughout the semester involved creating mock-ups for fictitious magazines, using software such as InDesign CS2 and Abode Photoshop.
Here is a mock cover for a magazine called “Elegance,” using InDesign CS2 and Abode Photoshop. We were provided only with one photo for this assignment. I hand-designed the rest. (Photo credit: Mark Johnson, www.mejphoto.com)

Here is a mock spread I created for a sports magazine. Again, provided only with photos (Photo credits: Mark Johnson, www.mejphoto.com):
This is a mock flyer that I designed for The Georgia Club. They asked me to come up with a marketing piece for a children’s Halloween event.
